My silkie bantam only sits on the eggs at night. Well three of them do. We average 65 to 75 degrees during the day. They are still young and just started laying last weekend during the hurricane. Only 8 eggs in the nest. Was told by my mil that some chickens wait until they have a certain number of eggs. Should I be worried?

As for the eggs have rigged up an incubator ( type like what I did for my reptiles back in the day) to hold the eggs until my incubator gets here.

My incubator setup with the now chirrping eggs. ( I am so proud) two rubbermaid containers, the bigger one with water and an aquirium heater, the smaller filled with hay covered with the extra wall from my dogs crate, a blue light 50 watt heat light light, bricks for weight and towels to keep drafts out.
