Hello to the Backyard Chicken Community!

Forgive me for my question, but I'm just wondering, do you have to wait until nightfall to place day-old chicks under a broody?
I'm about to head out a collect a dozen chicks and was determining whether to just place them under my broody hen or separate them until nighttime.
Anyway please let me know ^^
THANKS!

Keep chookin'

Most will recommend waiting until nightfall but I didn't and it turned out just fine. I took out the eggs from under my rir and replace with babies during the day. She accepted them with no hesitation. I think it all depends on the hen if she doesn't accept them during daylight then try again at night. I was just too excited to see her with babies and I think she was ready for them lol
