Help my pea eye

New to this so not sure how to start a new question. However, mine is somewhat similar. My white peacocks right eye is horribly swollen, so much so that he can't close his beak. He is not coughing or stuffed up sounding. I think maybe a non venomous snake bite that got infected. If I can catch him, can I give him a shot of penicillin?
Welcome to BYC!

You could try penicillin, though I doubt it will be very effective. Can you post a picture of it?

Hi, I have successfully treated several times in the past few years this kind of swollen eye in peafowl, esp. in chicks with TYLAN 200 0.5 to 1 cc of tylan200 sub-cutaneos injection right into the inflammed area. or nearby. Make sure that you do not poke into the eyeball Tylan comes in two strenghts 50, and 200. I used 200. you can buy on amazon 50cc or 200cc bottle. 100% cure. guarateed. you can send me a personal message at [email protected] if you need more assistace.

I know some people do this, but this sort of treatment really worries me as I have never seen a reference to a veterinarian suggesting this.

When I did it the whole head blew up like a balloon and turned deep red like a total allergic reaction. I thought I had killed it but it slowly went down and returned to normal without the infection. I would do it to a chicken or turkey but not my peafowl, not again.

Seems like I remember Yoda saying to do this when I tried it.

I was wondering how much of that injection drains from the sinus down into the digestive system. If the sinus is plugged with a hardened mucus maybe none would drain. I would think for the medication to work it would have to get into the blood stream. I gave shots to turkeys when we had them, even a wild turkey that overwintered with us one year. I sure felt sorry for what I did to them but they did survive.
