Ok, how do I convince my rooster to stop crowing all night on the hour every hour? He starts at ninepm and continues until my other half leaves for work at 7:30am. Help lol

Is there a light coming from somewhere? A yard light or headlights, a bright porch light... Anything of the sort? A young rooster may crow at any source of light, thinking its sunrise. Maybe blocking any light from reaching him at night might help. Just an idea ;)

My best suggestion is no crow collar. It doesn't stop the crowing completely but it quiets down and makes them Crow less often

Ok light might be it. We have a motion sensor light on our storage building and our back porch light is usually on. Will try turninf that one out at night and aee if that helps. Captain Hook also croos at cars so ....idk lol where can I find info on the collar?

Just a thought on it though- I got my flock as day old hatchlings in early may. Could this just be his "oh hey I have a voice now" thing?

Ha-ha, it could be that too; young cockerels are a little daft sometimes ;) They do like to hear themselves, and will do it at every opportunity... Cars, lights, strange birds, the wind... Mine will crow at night if they hear a strange noise; they are warding off predators at night, and competition during the day.

A motion sensor light might be it though. Every time the light goes on is not only shedding light on his space, making him thing its morning, but its also probably getting set off by a cat or other lurking critter, which he can also hear and is doing his best at protecting his flock.

He's doing his job, in a confused sort of way :)

I agree the light coming in will cause them to crow. Also if he is young they will crow simply to hear themselves. Its shooting at times. The no crow collars seem to work pretty well. It restricts how much air they can pull in for a crow. The less air there is the shorter and shorter crow. Best of luck with him. It can be fun with a young one
