I am leaning towards King pigeons for squab in the near future. The problem is pigeon breeders in Montana are few and far between and mostly are rasing racing homers. If thats all I can get to start I will deal with smaller squabs but I am hoping there are some squabbers somewhere in Montana. Anyone on here who has Utility pigeons in Montana or close by states (not that any state by MT is "close" since I am about 4 to 10 hours from the neighboring states.)?

Check out live meat markets in your area. People may be selling live King pigeons at them since they were originally bred for human consumption. Also, see if you can get any breeders to ship one to you overnight. It might be your only option. Best wishes in your hunt :)

Homers seem best meat pigeons generally next to kings, as kings around me anyway are like ferals with lib better breast meat at very best eating lot more feed, my my white racing homers were at least twice size of.
