I'm around 100% sure I will be ordering from them next spring, what's your experience with ordering chickens/ducks from them? Post pictures if you can :)

I don't have pics but I have always been pleased with Ideal. I've ordered chicks as well as ducklings. I always count on losing a few more waterfowl than chicks in transit but that seems to be true no matter where I order. I would recommend Ideal. :)

That's good. I've heard ducks are more fragile than chickens when getting shipped. I live 2 hours from Ideal, so if I can I will just drive and get some at the place, but I don't know if you can do that. What duck and chicken breeds did you order? :) I want runners really bad

Ideal is awesome. 10/10 would order again. 29/30 chicks arrived happy and healthy, 1 was a cockerel. 28/30 is great for hatcheries.

Of course, If you are looking for breeding/exhibition quality, look elsewhere. These were strictly for my laying pen :).

Good! And I'm only looking for to have them as backyard chickens/ducks and laying purposes, no breeding/exhibition quality. You said you got 1 cockerel, did you put only pullets when you placed your order? Or did you intend to get one?

I asked for all pullets. 1 out of 30 is really good for hatcheries.

Yes, that is really good for hatcheries. I've heard stories of people getting 10 pullets and 6 of them being cockerels

I got 6 pullets from a feed store and 2 of them ended up being cockerels

I traded him to a farm in exchange for a dozen free range eggs...they needed more layers as their girls were slowing down so they wanted to breed some more instead of buying.
