I added a "" in case anyone missed my lame sense of humor
No, I have checked that & watched closely. She is definitely not picked on. & she was actually one of the first 2 in the coop. The younger 2 then followed.
Coop-anions......good one, I love word play.
At 24 weeks she shouldn't be molting...I think she looks OK, tho her cushion feathers are a little odd looking.
A better pic up close with a hand behind a few of those feathers might help.
Did they grow in like that or have they changed recently?
Could they be getting mussed from rubbing against something when she roosts or gets into a nest.
Any chance she's mixed with silkie somewhere in her background?
Is she laying yet?
Could she be losing her baby feathers and her adult feathers be growing in?She isn't laying yet, I have only 1 who has started laying, she is a couple of wks older & a Coronation Sussex. No silkies, besides the 2 Sussex ladies we just have an Australorp & a RSL (Lohmons). I haven't noticed her rubbing on anything, & since this post, most of these scraggily looking feathers have fallen out, but leaving no bald patches, as they were kind of just amongst the top layer of her feathers.
*too early for me, I shldnt post without coffeeI read your question wrong. Her background I'm unsure of, she was picked up from our feed store. So I guess it could be a possibility.
Could she be losing her baby feathers and her adult feathers be growing in?
