I, unfortunately, need to rehome my two babies. I have moved and no longer have the space or time. For them anymore. They are very spoiled and must go to someone who will be willing to spoil them even more. They are very good about following me and one, once he trusts you, will even hop right on to your lap. They are not allowed to go to separate homes, as they are best buddies and can't leave each others side. The rouen is about about one year and the mallard was hatcheded early April this year.

They respond to their names and also know:
"Night night" means go to sleep.
" Treats"
"No"
"Ucky" means dont touch
"Go Swim"
"Go play" means go outside
"Come Cuddles" means lap
and a few other things

They are free range during day but have no natural instincts/defenses due to the environment they've been raised in They currently sleep on a dog, chase cats (including ones that hunt similar critters on a daily basis), and run toward people and vehicles to see if there's any treats for them so they must be monitored VERY closely when outside. The mallard can fly. He doesn't go far because the rouen can't fly and they don't like being apart. Because of that, the mallard hasn't had enough practice to master turning and stopping but is improving every vhance he gets.

These two are more like little messy people than they are ducks and it's hard for me to do this. They've been my best friends over the past few months and I wish I could keep them. Unfortunately, things in my life took an unexpected turn and it's not fair for them to be so confined in town.

If you think you're up to the challenge, let me know. I'd love to see them find an even happier, better home!

Ducks have lived happily in urban and suburban areas - even inside homes with humans for a while now.

If you have the room, can you get a roofed chainlink dog pen for their daytime ranging and bring them inside to sleep in a large crate at night? (if you don't already)
Have you considered duck diaper harnesses and leashes for walkies? Leashed ducks get into less trouble when mooching treats off strangers and harrassing strange dogs and cats (my duck loves to pull tails and fur). They won't like the diapers at first, but if you are consistent as you would be with a child, they will grudgingly accept them and when they learn that wearing a diaper means more treats, they can even get enthusiastic about wearing them!
I'm sorry I can't suggest more about the time issue. Maybe take them with you?

They sound adorable. I wish I could take them but I can't. Good luck with finding them a home. I'm sorry you have to part with them.
