we for years were getting 400 special blacks from sunnyside hatchery but this year every batch has been constantly just been getting worse they just start walking around like they are drunk and then die within the day even at 3-4 they still die like that! we have tries medicine in the water plus chick boosters when no medicine is put in keep bedding as clean as possible for chickens.... right temps for babies there literally is nothing logical i have not tried to make them better but when i leave at night they are looking great and the next day always a few drunks then dead later that day.......not sure if it is bad breeding or a unkown disease i have not read up on? no bloody poop no watery poop so it does not fit coccidious for the reason... if any one has had problems like this please let me know what you have done to fix it!
next year i am making my own special blacks we have just lost too much money on them just dying this year from sunnyside hatchery.... every other type of chicks i have ordered for my personal flock has not had these issues and they do have contact with each other so it is not passable from contact i do know that thats why i think it is a more serious issue just with the special blacks...even the barred rocks and the rhode islands to cross for the special blacks i will be making are doing awesome and they are in the same brooder room they are happy and healthy and the special blacks just keep slowly keep decreasing in number...totally confused as to why?

Just sounds like bad genetics...

That's what a few people have said too and my dad does not believe me he says its the set up and I know it is not plenty warm for babies fresh food and water and they just still die unfortunately there is no medicine for bad breeding heck it could be inbreeding all the last 3 years using the same place Sunnyside so I am just going to breed my own I guess for sure now...already have 30 some barred rock hens and 6-7 Rhode island red roosters so next spring I will be incubating eggs weekly for sure now that way there will be no inbreeding and fresh hens every year to a year and a half..... I also raise the red phoenix for the Hmong to for the new year so they will be incubated all year too because I need males and there is no place that sells pre-sexed phoenix so I will be a busy chicken mom next year :) I also have 2 peacocks some turkeys flock of bantams and my regular variety of pet chickens and ducks and guineas...my very own petting zoo basically if you add my fainting goat and 2 Nigerian dwarfs :)

By the way if anyone knows a good quality incubator for a fair price please let me know I need to buy a high capacity one not these 40 egg ones since I will have a batch going in for incubation every week .... Any suggestions or leads to nice used ones for sale would be awesome :)
Thanks for the help
