Does anyone here raise show quality Mille Fleur Booted Bantams? I'd like to see what some show quality Mille Fleurs look like. I've seen lots of barnyard millies shown, but I don't think I know of any breeders who work on this breed.

Cheers,

I bought some Mille hatching eggs from Zunibee (Jay). I don't know if they are show quality or not, but they sure are lovely looking birds. Try sending him a PM to see if he has what you are looking for.

I am working on porcelian d' uccles. The female i have leading my breeding pen had great type and lacing. The male is just ok and his weakness the female outweights. I already hatched out 9 chicks this last month. If you are intrested in some let me know. I am breeding for the female line and the females i have shown have won 1st, BV, BB. The males are just breeder quality.

Are you interested in seeing true Booted bantams or bearded d`Uccles?? I have show quality in both........ Jane/Cedaridge Farm

Hi Guys,

Well, I must say I'm learning more and more about my guys all the time. I currently have a pair of Mille Fleur Booted bantams. They do not have beards or muffs, but some of the parents did. I culled them out of the flock due to age and disqualifying traits and kept the best two chicks from this years hatch. Mind you, they are pretty sad overall when you look at show quality, but there is nothing in my area to work with, so I'm making due with what I have. Since no one around here has anything show quality I was looking for some pictures of good birds to use as a guide to a certain degree.

I'm afraid I'm in Canada, so getting eggs or birds is pretty much out of the question unless you are also in Canada.

I will try to get some pics of the two that I have so you guys can see them and give some constructive criticism.

I'm confused. Are you talking about Mille Fleur D'Uccles (millies) or Booted Bantams in the mille fleur color pattern? They certainly aren't the same thing.

Yeah, I'm getting kind of confused too. Let me see if I have this straight.

Booted Bantams are non-bearded, Belgian Bearded d'Uccles are bearded and both have single combs.

Belgian Bearded d'Anvers are bearded and have rose combs.

All come in the Mille Fleur color pattern along with other colors.

The Standard lists the shape of the Booted Bantam and the Belgian Bearded d'Uccles as the same except in the head area where the d'Uccles have beards and the Booted bantams do not.

The d'Anvers have a similar description as the d'Uccles except for the rose comb.

Clear as mud?

I am also looking to add a few really nice hens to my little mille fleur d'Uccle breeding project here in Oregon. I have one roo and one hen (bought from a breeder who shows up and down the west coast) I had a very hard time finding any breeders around here- but if there is anyone else out there please contact me- I would like to find a few more un-related hens if possible.
