SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

Day 21 and yesterday I noticed a piece of shell sticking out from the bottom of the egg with chirping..my first pip!! However, the pip is on the small end, near the bottom so it is very hard to see. Well, at some point yesterday the bator got unplugged for approx. 2 hours

. Once I noticed I immediately plugged it back in! Now, this morning I noticed the little piece of shell fell off and I still hear loud healthy chirping but no real progress other than the piece of shell falling off. I know I shouldn't open the incubator but I can't see anything due to the location of the pip!! Is it ok to roll the egg over so I can assess the membrane for dryness or should I just leave it alone and give it time? I am worried I may have to assist later on and I'm hoping she can do it on her own. Please help!! I need advice!!

How is she doing? I don't see harm in simply rolling her over a bit to keep an eye on her pip, but dont mess with her too much. Have you looked for threads about assisting hatched when the pip is on the wrong end? Don't rush into anything, and poke around on the sights hatching pages there should be many threads about wrong end pips... GOOD LUCK!
 
Thank you for responding! I tilted the egg a bit. She has her beak poking through the hole and is very active, moving her beak up and down, almost as if she is panting, then chirps loudly. She has not attempted to zip yet. I'm having a hard time determining if she is stressed at this point or just taking her time. I have read the assisted hatching article which warns to take it slow so I'm very hesitant to assist but also super concerned about her well being. This will be my first hatch if she makes it after 2 failed attempts due to high humidity so I've got my fingers crossed!

I can't tell, is it yellow and leather looking or white? What is your humidity?

Warning: I have assisted quail hatching many times but not a chicken or a wrong ended pip

Yellow and leathery. Ok, I decided to assist since she's so dry. I slowly picked away a zip line making sure not to puncture the membrane, there was no bleeding or veins showing so that's great! I have continued to keep her moistened, and I'll monitor her progress over the next few hours. She's chirping away so maybe she will be fine!! I am a nervous wreck!! lol
 
Oh and my humidity was at 60%. I just placed her back after assisting with a warm, damp paper towel. Fingers crossed
