Pre-Egg Laying Illness?? Help From Experienced Duck People!

I think she gorged on food, perhaps did not drink enough water. The swelling was probably the food stuck in her throat.

Please describe to us what kind of food she tet, how often, type of waterer, if she gets water 24/7, temperature of the brooder, if recently they ran out of food, if they get small amounts of chick grit, if they get anything to eat other than starter crumble. Anything else food or water related could be helpful also.

Have you read the sticky on raising ducklings, or any books on raising ducklings? Those can be helpful and the sticky is free. Links in blue near the top

Thank you guys who responded <3 Amazingly, my little Khloe after a day or two went perfectly back to her normal self. I have no idea what could have caused this. Some people have mentioned that it was their first experience with cold weather, but I don't know. Like I said, I'm totally inexperienced with these little guys.

Are you keeping them inside under heat? Duckling need to have warmth till feathered in. Great she is doing good now though. Ducklings /ducks need water with their food always. and ducklings need feed and water 24/7 until 5-6 weeks of age.
