I have an Orpington hen almost 2 years old. Last spring she got what seemed like a cold, puffy eyes, coughing, mouth breathing. No bad smell though She seemed to feel ok, eating well. I took her to vet, he gave her a couple of shots and wormed her. I had 2 others that never got sick. She recovered and has been fine. She started moulting, not a severe moult. She has symptoms again. I have gotten 2 more orpingtons over the summer so I now have a total of 5 hens. From looking up symptoms I think it is coryza. I can't afford the vet right now. Can I get antibiotics at Tractor Supply? Any opinions as to the best one?

Coryza usually comes with a very distinct smell. Do they smell bad now? It could be ms or mg or even ilt. Usually the best antibiotic for treating respiratory illness is tylan 50 injectable. It is injected at .2ml per pound of body weight 3 times a day.

Mycoplasma can cause those symptoms, and it can be recurrent, coming back during times of stress. I would also recommend Tylan 50 injectable, used orally or by injection.
