[/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]My 5 month old pekin was sitting by herself in our pond today, she got out & wasn't walking very well. She let me pick her up way to easy. I've never seen her lay an egg but she & 13 other ducks are 100% free range. I've researched and wonder she's egg bound. I did the put a glove on & checked her vent. I didn't feel anything. I watched a second video and am wondering if I didn't go deep enough. She acts like her stomach hurts, her bill is warm, & she is dropping her back end. She acts like hear head is heavy. She's having trouble walking. I've given her oats and egg shells and put apple cider vinegar in water to drink just in case it's a bacterial infection. She gobbles up meal worms. She eats a little and drinks a little. She's not pooping much. When I put her in warm bath she seems to feel better. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I have her separated right now.

@Ry77 how is your duck today? if she has botulism. you can go to the sticky's at top left of duck page and find how to treat or if you have access to a vet I'd go that way. If she is egg bound soaks in warm water may help her enough to relax and pass the egg. It's hard to diagnose but either way something is def wrong.

Are her poops very watery? The neck floppiness and weak legs do sound like botulism, but it's very hard to nail down. Good thing you separated her, and be very careful when you touch her and then wash your hands and change clothes just in case it is botulism.

I had a chicken get botulism. I nursed her for a week, but she didn't make it.

Good luck and hope your case turns out better then mine.

We found a dead bullfrog in the pond. I'm sure she nibbled on it. She is not doing well. She still can't walk. I've been instructed to mix molasses and water and give to her. Also to pull up her food
