My chicken(her name's Ruffy) has flystrike, and I treated her by flushing her vent with water and picking out the maggots, I then sprayed some saline solution, vetricyn, and dusted her vent and the area around it with gold Bond powder. She's separated from the flock and there is quit a bit of blood in the vent. Am I doing everything right and is there anything more I can do? Also does anyone have any natural remedies?
Thank you so much for any help

Fly strike is not good. She may have some that has went up inside of her. If that is the case I don't know how to treat that. I had a rooster with fly strike last summer. It was between his legs.I sat him down in some warm Epsom salt water. They just floated up.it was disgusting.I than took a pair of tweezers and started picking them off.Than I came here for help.I was told to take some peroxide and spritz it on the area were the maggots were. But don't over do it.Peroxide dissolve the flesh.I than checked him the next day.and found more.I soaked him again in warm water. He was a very sick rooster.but he did survive.I checked him on a regular basis to make sure he had no more. This is my go to site when I have a injured or sick bird.I am sure someone here can help you.Good luck. Also go to your search bar at the top of the page and type in flystrike.I do that while I am waiting for some advice.

we kept Goldie in the house till her wound was healed. Course she still has the big bare spot below her vent.
I prob should have soaked her more often in Epsom salt.did use the saline solution when geting off the maggots, too. It was in July of 2015
we kept her dry and she slept on a portable roost with a tray under her at night to catch her poo.she chose the frezer in the corner to sleep
after she pooed most times I would squirt her with clean water with a syringe not touching her skin then followed up quite a few times with collidal silver solution squirted at her wound
Iam sure they are some members knowledgeable in herbs.....
oh also prob gave her "nutri drench "quite a bit too,
good luck dont give up on her please
just a saying
