We have two duck sisters that are currently laying eggs and generally are side by side at all times. We've seen them mount one another in the pool and bite each other's neck while submerging the other. They both do it to each other often. But today one of the girls neck is bloody and missing feathers! We just introduced a new chicken to our chicken flock, would this cause her to be overly aggressive? Should we separate them? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Sorry, didnt see this. The mounting is normal, dominance and hormones. If one just got a little cut, the chickens can be pecking on the wound and making it worse(I am assuming you have the ducks and chickens together).Or the other duck can be making it worse with repeated mountings. Is the one with the wound generally the one underneath?
Keep an eye on them.

Ducks and chickens are separate, they barely socialize. I would consider the mounting fairly even between the girls, I've seen them take turns doing it to one another and looks like it was a single occasion for this aggressive biting. Thanks.

OK
Put something like betadine or other disinfectant on and watch for any other aggression. Hopefully its just a once off thing
