Is this common, or is she just cheeky?

So 10days ago, Chelsea started laying, she has laid every single day, besides the 7th day. What I have noticed though is she waits until I feed them breakfast, & then almost immediately, within a 10-15minute period, runs to her box & lays. Do all chickens do this? Is she needing a feed to get her energy up to lay, is she just cheeky, or is she thanking me for breakfast?

It isn't anything to be worried about. She's probably just waiting for breakfast before she goes to her box

I'm not exactly worried, just curious to know if it was common I guess. As I hear alot of people collect eggs before/during breakfast, so their girls obviously lay before breakfast.

That was all

I've had hens who will "postpone" egg laying to get in on the food that's being dished out. Chickens have incredible memories and built-in sense of timing as far as food goes, too.

But controlling their egg laying goes just so far. It's a 25 hour process to release a yolk and take it through the "egg building" process, and it will be incrementally later each day when this egg is laid, then the hen may skip a day, and her egg process gets reset to early again.

Your hen appears to be very fond of food, and she makes certain that egg laying doesn't interfere with being there when food is certain to appear.

Since she began laying 10days ago, we have had 9 eggs from her, 'resting' on day 7. She has laid each of those eggs by 7am each day though, besides one of which she laid after lunch time (which was day 4)
