You should try a chicken theme...bet they'd turn out great!

Everyone says that about the dragon fly one...lol. :hu

I did that on a whim, I had an awful time getting the dragonflies to look like dragonflies.

I "think" I was going to try that...chicken theme nail art. :yiipchick

So, I hollowed out over a dozen eggs this morning, designed and drilled two (simple designs for practice) about to "try" embroidering.

I bought an engraver and a dremel tool to carve eggs. The engraver was much more precise.
My broken egg picture is what happened when I used the dremel. (Knock off version)
bow.gif  on the embroidery eggs and drilling that!

I think for carving/etching one almost requires precision equipment like the sc carver or a dentist tool.
I don't think I can afford those at the moment.sad.png
I'm going to stick with what I know best....nail art.

Hopefully I'll get something done soon. celebrate.gif

I already had a dremel, because I do woodworking also, then thought I'd like to try carving eggs. But I broke so many! Then bought the "add-on" tool. I think it's an etcher, maybe, but it's low vibration. Makes a huge difference. The add-on tool wasn't that expensive, but to buy the whole shebang at one time could be. I have collected bits and stuff over the years.

The nail art looks awesome though! I would think it would be easy enough to do the same type of thing on an egg! Probably even use the nail polish, or paint, since you can do that tiny work.

:bow on the embroidery!  Thank you for the tip on the "add-on" attachment...I will look into that.

I was thinking of doing a nail art egg.  (How DID you know?) ;)

Thank you! Just because you don't see the color all over me doesn't mean it wasn't there. ;)

Water marbling - I'm coated up to the second knuckle on every finger. :woot

I find one color can be harder to apply perfectly.

Multiple colors or a design distract the eye from imperfection.;)

Good luck with the embroidery WV!

x2 on doing the nail art type thing on an egg. One thing about an egg, you have a bigger "canvas"!

Sometimes I think a bigger canvas can be harder. :th:hu

Or, maybe it's just easier to see the mistakes. :D

I hear you on that. Then too, I keep my nails very short so any 'art' would be extremely teeny-tiny :D

X3 on the short nails. Optical illusion of vertical prints or vertical color gradients make it "look" like your nails are longer.

(Which is why I do that on my nails most of the time...lol.) :weee

I STILL haven't started. I can't actually believe I'm inside. We moved the cattle. We moved the bulls. In the process of moving the roosters. And I've been clearing snow for...how many days? 3? 4? Will the snow and wind ever stop? :barnie

Thank you. I have a dozen eggs on my tree and probably 8 of them have some form of chickadee on them. I just love birds!

It's just rub on transfers and mod podge, then hot glue ribbon and a topper to the blow hole.

No reason to hide under a chair! You did a good job and the whole point of the contest is to see what members can do with eggs/eggshells so I think what you did is very creative!
