Still waiting on eggs

i have 4 plymouth rocks that i got around easter. i am still waiting on them to have eggs. is this normal?? they are at least 8-9 months old.
 
I would've thought that they would be laying by now, but with different individuals it can take longer to begin laying.

What are you feeding them? Do they free range? Are you sure they are female? Do you have any other chickens? Could you post some pictures of them? Have they had any health problems or stress lately (predator attack, move, new birds, etc.)?
 
not any stress not any attacks i am feeding laying chicken feed i think it is 15% i have 2 bantams but they are in a separate pen. they have not been sick they are let out of the pen every afternoon when i get home from work. i am sure they are female by now they would be showing signs of being a rooster. all four are in the same pen
 
Switching them to layer feed which is a lower protein content than a grower will cause their development to slow down, so I would put them back on a non medicated grower and add a separate bowl of oyster shells for any extra calcium needs. Layer tends to be too low in protein for most backyard flock and certainly for growing birds who need extra protein to finish growing as well as to begin to produce eggs. I actually don't feed layer anymore and never will again due to its lower protein content.
 
My flock was born in/around April 18th, and I'm still waiting too. Definitely all gals, and I've got a Delaware, Brahma/Orpington X, EE, Silkie. The Silkie may be about a month younger than the others, but hard to gauge based on size. The B/O is still growing, as I've noticed her tail continuing to sprout feathers, and she's looking like a giant compared to the others.

None of their combs/wattles are fully flush red yet, although not expecting that with the EE, but getting really close. The Sikie, is well... blue/black, so I have no frame of reference for what to look for in her. She's a DNA verified female, so I at least have that reassurance.

These girls get to free range the yard on the weekends, and otherwise they live in their dog run enclosure. I may try going to the grower feed, since they are clearly still getting bigger from what I can tell.

4 large birds (7 months old BTW) in a tiny coop/run.....is stressful.

How long have you been feeding the low protein layer feed?
