The egg in the upper left is the one in question. The two brown ones are from two other golden comets I have and the other used to be the same color. The white one is from my cal white just for color reference. She has laid these off colored all.ost white eggs for the last three days. Should I be worried.

Towards the end of a laying cycle a hen's eggs sometimes become lighter in color. She may be getting ready to take a break from laying.

Huh. I would have expected an older bird.

I don't think it's any cause for concern, though, and not much you could do about it anyway. The brown coating is applied after the egg is formed, so color doesn't effect the actual egg itself. Could be her sprayer got clogged or something

She appears to be fine doesn't act any differently then she has been. No obvious signs of sickness or molting. She just started laying odd colored eggs for a golden comet. if nothing to worry about then I'll just fry up the eggs like normal. Thanks for the comments.

I have a golden comet who is also probably about five months old. She's been laying for over a month brown eggs, now suddenly the last two have been white. Did you ever figure this out?
