Dewlaps are meant to be fatty looking, and will continue to develop a fattier appearance as they age. I will, however, echo others regarding their feed. I do not feed a layer pellet to my geese. If you cannot get Mazuri waterfowl maintenance, then I recommend you feed a mix of Flockraiser and whole corn to supplement the grass. I have never fed grit to my geese either. When my girls are laying, I set out piles of crushed oyster shell and crushed eggshells for calcium, which is extremely important. I also feed more corn in the fall/winter months, but cut back considerably once they start breeding. Hope this helps.
