CORNING NY
Hello. I have all age hens. I have new wyncottes, 6 months old. Have now and then in past month or so, found small small eggs, fairy eggs, no,yolks, or very little yolk, and am wondering if it is the new hens or older ones, about 4 years old laying them? And when the wyncottes start laying, if not already, do they lay small, mother progress to larger.

Some new layers occasionally lay fairy eggs, but usually you see them out of older hens who are starting to shut down for the season and molt, so my guess would be from your older hens.

Wyandotte are slower to start laying. Mine are usually around 6-7 months before they start. Most pullet eggs are small and slowly enlarge over a few months. Older hens lay larger eggs.
