Hello everyone! I am trying my hand at a special project. True BBS Ameraucana x faverolles. I may add other breeds eventually as my end goal is a EE that has strong blue genetics, feathered legs, faster to develop than true Ameraucana and light blue/green eggs. I have 3 fav pullets, two Am pullets (1 blue 1 splash) and a blue cockerel.

I have hatched eggs before but never dabbled in breeding. Any advise would be most welcome.

Thanks all!

In my opinion, the first thing you should do is win the lottery, and I mean big, that way you can pay for the facilities, birds, several years of feed, and upkeep, that a project requires.

The biggest challenge will be breeding out the mahogany of the Faverolle. You'll be fighting the red leakage for many generations. And keep in mind, hens can carry the red leakage, passing it on to their male offspring. This is why it can be such a pain to remove from lines.
