My 5 month old bourbon red tom had some string tangled around his feet and legs. I managed to get him down and got the string off but at the last second before I let him up he started struggling and I heard his leg/foot make a loud pop. Immediately he couldn't stand on it and right at the area that would be conskdered the ankle on a human he can't stand on it it keeps turning inwards. Not sure if it's broken or if it's dislocated somehow. I've got it wrapped with some vet wrap tape and have him in a dog crate where he can't really move around a lot. He has heat in the area he doesn't even try to stand on it. I really don't want to cull him any suggestions or advice?

That's rough. If you have access to a vet, that's your best option, otherwise you will just have to wait and see if it heals. If you don't see any improvement in a few weeks I would start to think about culling.

After almost 2 weeks of being quarantined and kept from moving a lot and also wrapping his leg/foot with a homemade brace and vet wrap he's now walking and putting some weight on his broken foot. The swelling has mostly went away he has a limp but is able to do everything the other turkeys do. So happy I didn't cull him.

Our turkey broke her leg and we just let her heal we didn't do anything to it. She eventually healed on her own
