Building the chicken palace this weekend

The girls are taking to the new home just fine. I had to put them on the roost last night, but they seem to be comfortable now. I'll be removing the upper roost because there's really only room for the two and the upper one is blocking air space to get to the middle. It gives a couple different areas to roost and options as far as grip, etc.

They're now coming to the coop to roost on their own now. I had to lock them in for a day and that did the trick. No more sleeping outside in the cold. They were laying in the new coop and still sleeping outside before, haha.

Interesting nesting box design; isolated from the main coop, yet not so much from the adjoining box. Your reasoning behind this being..?

Because that's what they're used to. They all use the same one 98% of the time and there's only one chicken at a time. What is the conventional design?

Converted the old coop into rainy day feeding/shade/watering box yesterday. It's raining today and it's nice and dry in there if they want it. I also cleaned the coop for the first time yesterday. Mostly dry, easy to scrape and the wheel barrow fits quite nicely.
