Hi. There is a goose at a local wildlife park where you can go and feed ducks/geese/etc. There is this one specific goose there who consistenly has his head looking up, and he only brings it down to the ground to sort of "nibble". I've visited him twice in the past two days, and he does not eat when we offer him food. That's not to say he isn't eating. He does let people touch him, but after touching he DOES bite. However, upon walking away, he follows and it almost seems like he wants people to pet him. It's strange. A friend suggested that he may be mourning. Out of all the geese I have seen at the park (they are wild, mind you. do NOT usually let people touch them although they will eat out of hands.) But this is quite a strange ordeal. You walk away, he follows, and then kneel down and touch his goose breast. After a while, he'll give a very very soft nibble, then go back to looking at you. When I kneel, I say "c'mere" and he seems to come over so I can pet him, but at the same time he doesen't like it. Goose behaviourists, please help!!!!
