My quail eat ANYTHING. LOL At first they were leary of things like corn, squash, broccoli, cabbage, yogurt, carrots, etc.... Now, it's eat first, ask questions later! It took repetitive feedings of things for them to gain the courage to try it. (they always get a sampling of the goodies I feed to my chickens) Your quail have no idea if what you are offering is poisonous so they eat what is familiar. But deep down inside they crave everything. And once one of them becomes brave enough to try spmething, the others will follow. Dining on some alfalfa sprouts.... Guarding a peach... Apples and mealworms....
Wow! Beautiful birds, great pics and ideas haha "eat first, ask questions later" One of my hens actually jumped out onto my knee (was sitting in front of the cage) and kept begging for the food in my hand unfazed by her tumble, pretty sure that was for banana - it's a feeding frenzy! And pomegranates can't even be fed by hand to a group of four hens... It's just too dangerous for everybody including my hands haha.
