I just got a new silkie pair from Bobbi Porto. This little girl I have seems to have a problem. I was just taking a look at them and this girl has dry flakes, crusty and hard to get off stuff on her face. I will try to get pictures of it later today. Does anyone know how to treat it. By the way they are in quarantine, isolation right now. I also so heard Favus IS spreadable to humans has anyone had a case of that?

I'm sorry no one responded.

Can you post some photos?

Favus is a fungal infection/disease. Usually you can treat with an anti-fungal cream (athlete's foot cream) - like Lotrimin, Tinactin, etc.

Wear gloves when handling/apply the cream, it's possible it could be spread to humans. Precautions are always best.

You may also want to contact your breeder (Bobbi Porto) with questions, they may have a better treatment suggestions.
