Since the weather has gotten colder, one of my girls won't go on the roost bar. Is this just because she's really cold? Or is something else wrong? She just lays on the floor of the coop all cuddled. Anything helps!!! Thank you!

Sounds more like she's not feeling well. What else have you noticed? Is she eating and drinking? Sometimes molting birds don't want to roost, is she molting? Have you checked her feet for sores? Also check for signs of mites which can harass chickens at night.

I have 3 girls, they are 7 months old and have lived together since they were babies. i think the coop is 5'x6' and the coop is 9'x5'

thats just it, she seems completely fine. she's eating she's drinking normally. her feet don't look sore.... she just seems like she's cold and trying to get away from drafts. she just seems very sensitive to the cold. i don't think she's molting. i don't think there are mites, i've checked a couple times for mites. she got up on it last night and huddled with the other girls because it was freezing. and this evening before i checked she wasn't up. she really just seems sensitive for the most part.

Did you have a temperature drop recently? Some birds take a week or two of sitting around looking cold before they acclimate to the new temperatures. Each shift they will look cold for a while, though they usually will still roost.

No one likes to read this.......Nutrition......It plays a huge role in Chicken keeping......Age appropriate diets...Grit and Oyster shell for layers Cut out almost all snacks.....Chickens get to many issues when fed to many snacks/treats......I have never had any of the common illnesses posted about.....I am being honest..........

Cheers!
