I am new to BYC

We need chickens so that our australorp has a friend. right now she is getting picked on so much. Does anybody have any advise or some people or companies we can contact. we would also like to adopt a ex battery hen but we live in LA and i don't think we can find a place that sells them here.

You might enjoy 'meeting' members in CA. Just use the Search box at the top left of the screen to look for the California state thread (I believe there are two of them, one for the north & one for the south part of the state).

As N F C has suggested, the members on your local thread will hopefully be able to help with finding somewhere to adopt an ex batt or two. I wish you luck in your search and kudos to you for giving the ex batt the opportunity to have a good life.
