Why do people raise guineas?

Uhh.. it's funny when she faints? I'd be worried... what if she fell and hit her head when she faints? I don't know much about goats though..

Obvioulsy, you have never seen a goat faint. Yes, despite my better raising- I laugh my head off.

No, she doesn't hit her head she just kinda stiffens up and rolls over. These are not very tall goats so they don't have far to go. They are also very muscular and have a lot of padding. This is what my kids wanted for Christmas this year. Should I be concerned? Because it is a genetic trait that anytime anything startles them all of their muscles tense up and they fall over. They don't actually pass out. After a minute, it all relaxes and they get up.
As you can see, Guineass would fit in well at my funny farm.

waaay back when I was a kid my best friend's father was unloading a truck load of sheep down a ramp,
My friend 10 years old at the time jumped up onto the side of the loading chute and yelled to scare the sheep.. normal for a 10 year old, right?? at least for him it was normal.. Well he scared one ewe so badly, she collapsed and died right there !!! I remember his dad and older brothers quickly hanging that sheep up and cutting her throat.. I also remember she tasted fine.. I thinkhe remembers getting his A-- whipped..

I was outside today and my hubby drove in back from the store - I could hear those guinea's:

"OH NO - He came back, he's back, he's back, he's back!"

I raise my two Pearl Guineas for tick control and protection. One is a male and the other is a female. They sure are loud when anyhting is near them. I have them in with my chickens. They do pretty well together. I would like to get more in the spring but I know my dad wont let me. He doesnt like animals. Its not that he doesnt like them but he doesnt like me having a lot of animals.
