Can I cross Jersey giant with RIR?

I'm sorry I'm relatively new here so this may have already been answered. We've acquired a black jersey giant Roo that needed a home not in town. We have a flock of 10 RIR hens already & I'm wondering if there would be any issues crossing him with them for some meat birds to go into our freezer.

Might be a stupid question, just wondering if there would be any reason not to do this due to the size difference.
 
Guess we'll give it a go then. This guy is only 3 months and already as big as our 11 month old RIR Roo. We've got some younger hens his age so he can have that little flock.
