What to breed with my Cameo?

As I am setting up breeding pens for spring 2017, I realize my Cameo once again only has his Peach hen. I really do not want to hatch from her again since all 6 chickens that hatched last year died within days to a week after hatch. She has a scissor bill and I figure might well carry the death gene. She has lived with the Cameo peacock all her life since hatched and though I may not want to hatch from her, I wonder what other hen I could put in their pen to hatch from that would give me a project to work on.

I do not own any Cameo hens but I do have IBBS, IB, IB pied, IB SP, Bronze and Bronze WE, Opal WE and Purple.

I do not have to hatch from him but I also do not want to waste a chance at working on something beautiful, either. I have many other peacocks that I have paired up with some lucky ladies. I have 9 peacocks and 15 breeding hens.

What would you work on with this Cameo peacock? Should I go for Cameo pied?

That could give me Peach, right? But also IBs?

Well, not eggzactly. If you breed a Purple cock and Cameo hen to get an IB cock split to both Purple and Cameo, then breed him back to the Cameo hen mother you could eventually get Peach. I did that and have the offspring IB split Purple and Cameo cock that is coming two but now I have lost interest in the project since I have bought the Peach I wanted.

Oh well, good. I have no interest in Peach. I like darker or more brilliant colors that I can make a bit more striking by later adding pied.

Yes, I have the link saved from years ago and have read it but since that page was written much more information has come out. I just have no desire to raise Peach or even Cameo but this pair was given to me so I have them as pets. I would use the peacock if there was anything interesting I could create with him down the line. I am researching more about Cameo's now but most folks have just created more Cameos and that is fine but not what I want. Still reading though. I do not know the history on this boy so I have no idea what else may be in his genes. I like how new colors are created, though most often by accident.

He seems to have a pitiful train, not thick and lush like my other boys. In contrast, my Bronze has an amazingly thick and heavy train. I thought it was perhaps living conditions but 3 different types of pens and his train is still thin. Nutrition may need to be changed on this boy and have upped his game bird conditioner this winter and left out some other seeds that he wasn't eating anyhow.
