My Rooster, Faramir, has gotten a wierd, orange, crusty, something on the ends of his comb. The brown on his comb is dirt. But, can anyone help me with the orange? Is it Frostbite? Is it fungus?

How cold is it where you live now? My guess is that it is frostbite, especially if the temps are a bit below freezing at night. I normally don't see it unless the temps are below 10 degrees F. Sometimes you will see swelling as well at first. Favus is usually white and can affect the whole comb and face. Injuries such as from pecking and rubbing against fencing, can look black and then brownish or gray as they heal. Here is some info on frostbite: http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2013/12/frostbit-in-backyard-chickens-causes.html

Yesterday he was fine, and the lowest temp. was 7°F. I think it probably is frostbite though, thank you!!!

Let us know how he i doing in a few days. It helps others who may deal with this to see pictures and learn. Hopefully, it won't be too bad of a case. I have seen a bit of rounding off of points on large combs on a couple of roosters, but they recovered well.
