I like keeping all my birds together because I figure all the body heat in one coop will help keep it warmer.

How old is your Drake.....?..Young I assume.......He will become hormones in the spring. Just really watch he does not kill your Chicken hens....Drakes have a Penis..Chickens are not made that way..........

Sorry for the confusion on my part......lol.........:hide

Cheers!

He's two years old and a total wimp. He scrambles to get out of the way of the chickens and barely even breeds the female ducks. They usually chase him off if he tries. Poor dude doesn't get to act like a drake but he seems quite happy to let the girls take charge!

Ducks are truly a weird sort are they not? They [the ducks] are about 7 months old. We are trying to find a home for them though. Not too many uses for drakes when you wanted all girls!

Poultry are my most favorite farm animal, and the most amusing!

I am the proud owner of 14 Isa Browns, 1 German Shepherd-Great Pyrenees guardian dog (in my photos),3 Silkies, 1 adorable orange tabby cat named Annie Perbu, and 31 chicks which include Bantams and ISA Browns.

My weakness is learning. I will learn about anything. Anywhere. Including My animals, (even though I should already know...

The trick is to spend as much time with them as a Hen does....Quack to them and use your finger to tap at the ground.....Always Quack.....I was really sick this spring when the Ducklings came for me to sell.....I played with these Ducklings....Totally imprinted to me......I had to get my pen made as I never had mature Ducks, only sold for a friend......Silly Ducks stole my heart.......I love Ducks.........

When mine were kids........One Drake was sold and others have been added...........So cute!!

That is awesome. Yeah, I mean, I was probably too busy with other things to spend the needed time with them :( I love ducks to, with a purpose....And the right homing. I bought mine for a buck, but I was totally unprepared. I bought them because I was taken by how adorable they were [and still are!]

Oh, That is too cute! At least you feel loved and needed with every little thing coming from your little "feathered puppies"! My ducklings were like puppies before they decided they wanted to pass through the teenage stage.....:idunno I love em
