Good morning, BackYard Chickens. I'm new to the group, just wanted to introduce myself.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens. I got my birds on September 11th, this year. We drove from Ormond Beach to Live Oak (3 hours!) to pick them up. We were told that they were approximately 3-4 months old. My girlfriend, however, is not new to chickens. She had over 100 of them at one time in Mississippi. That was years ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now, we have three girls. We are looking to add another two or three, soon. I built a 3 ft. L X 2.5 ft. W coop with a 7 ft. L X 2.5 ft. W run. We just moved from a 75 ft. X 100 ft. lot to a place that has about 1.15 acres. Very soon, I will be building them an 8 ft. L X 8 ft. W X 6 ft. T coop/run combo
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have a Buff Orpington, a Speckled Sussex, and an Ameraucana. We are hoping to add an Isbar and a Black Copper Maran, soon.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I found Backyard Chickens by entering chicken related questions into the Google search bar.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Some of my other hobbies are photography, especially landscape, I am a co-founder of a group called Spring Hunters (we have over 21,000 members who are dedicated to spreading the word and practicing preservation of our fresh water and addressing water related issues, here in Florida, and around the world), I LOVE citrus culture and the history surrounding it, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, and exploring all around Florida, motorcycles, and gardening. I've attached a few samples of my photography work.
