Looks like we are in our normal-ish holding pattern of about 30F(0C?) during the day here. The chickens have removed and buried the remote hygrometer in the deep bedding and I can't find it. It is still sending out readings.

I have egg-citing news! My chickens are laying again! I had to share!

Three months to the day they all abruptly stopped in mid-october. I have missed my eggs. They have been practicing the egg song for a week or two but no eggs. So this was also a slow partial molt and reduced daylight! No supplemental light was provided.

Today, all in the same nest, three perfect eggs. And! instead of small to medium, they were all verging on Large! 2.0 oz!n It's the little things, isn't it?

OMGosh, that just really got me rolling.

But really, seriously(heeeheehee) that does stink, figuratively and probably literally once you find it.

But eggs, yes!!

We are in a winter advisory after midnight. In years past, I have had eggs show up around this time, but so far, nothing. In years past, a few girls would lay a few eggs, but I got his so hard by coons, last fall, that I am down to two hens, (chicks ordered) and a rooster. This has been the longest in 8 years that I have been without eggs, and I forget to buy them when I go to town! Ugh! Hope that laying eggs is catching! I am ready.
