We have had Loki for about 5 weeks he gets fed a bottle 3 times a day but he won't eat hay or sweet feed. Can someone help me figure out how to get him to eat something else he can't stay on a bottle forever

You could try giving him two bottles rather than three. What is the quality of the hay? Hay for goats needs to be fine stemmed and leafy. If it isn't, they are reluctant to eat it.

I'm new to this so I get my hay from my inlaws who have goats and horses who eat the hay. I tried the less bottle thing the other day and all he did was cry all night til I got up at 3 am to give him a bottle.

No he is an only child...I'm thinking I might have to take him out and put him with my inlaws baby girl goats so they can teach him

Welcome!

Sorry, I have no experience with goats but do hope that you are able to get your little guy onto something other than milk.

I also hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

We raised goats for a while and they do seem to prefer the company of other goats. Loki may be happier with your in-laws goats around.

Hope things work out soon!
