This seems unlikely, but last week one of my chickens was attacked by a hawk. My husband ran the hawk off, and Bossy seemed OK, other than some talon holes under her right wing. I put her in the coop with fresh water and warm mash, but she refused to move out of the corner for anything. She is just now (4 days) starting to move around a little, but seems to be finding food and water by feel... she hits the rims of the containers several times before actually getting her beak to its goal. She hasn't roosted and won't come out of the coop. This girl was the lone survivor of a coyote attack and later lost a toe to a weasel defending her chicks. She's always been such a fearless bird!
Any ideas what's wrong and how to care for her?
