It's VERY warm, and I can't find a place where it may have been punctured. I have another duck who was obviously punctured, and I squeezed pus out of it. This one looks like a sprain to me... Correct me if i'm wrong.

She's about 8 months old, sh'e a large Pekin, and she could have slipped on the ice...

@TroyerGal that looks like bumblefoot to me. Can you get to a vet?

In the meantime, I would try the clear iodine treatment on her. If you do not have clear iodine (not brown - clear), then a triple antibiotic on foot and leg, and if it's really warm she may most likely need oral or injectable antibiotic.

And then get some clear iodine - I found some at Walmart a few years ago. Handy for my own scrapes and bumps as well.

Anyway, the no-cut method may work really well for her. @Miss Lydia has done it, and here is a link to the description of the method.

@TroyerGal, I'm treating a Pekin drake with a bumble now. I've tried to be as non-invasive as possible to allow his own body to heal itself as much as possible, just spraying the spot with Vetericyn for a couple of weeks. It seemed to be getting better, albeit very slowly. Today warmed up enough to allow him a bath outside (he's inside on pine shavings) and he spent about 30 mins in the water. Lifting him right out of his bath, I was able to pull the softened scab off with tweezers. Despite the scab, I didn't see an infection "seed", but I did squeeze it to be sure. There was almost no bleeding, too. After packing the area with triple antibiotic ointment and gauze, followed by elastic bandaging, I put him back in the brooder. I think he's well on his way to recovery and will be back out with his Runner GF and kids soon.

That is awesome. Quite a bit more work on our part but so much easier for our ducks etc if we don't have to cut. Great update!!
