Back yard rabbit group anyone?

Use toenail clippers to keep them even and at a good length. Some rabbits have bad teeth genetics even with things to chew on.
I don't think she will let me. She isn't frightened of me but she still won't like me trying to clip her teeth. Do you think I should take her to the vets for a check up, or just give her a bit more time. She has managed so far without much difficulty, but I don't want her to get any worse.

If you don't think you can trim her teeth yourself, and you don't want to do something more drastic (like put her down), I would take her to the vet. Teeth problems can be painful for rabbits and lead to weight loss, so I would do something sooner rather than later.

Wrap her in a towel and have someone help you pry her mouth open. It would be even more stressful for the rabbit and more expensive to take her somewhere. But if you are that unconfident about it and can find a vet to help you that won't cost an arm and a leg, then do what you feel needs to be done.

I have trimmed overgrown rabbit teeth with a sharp pair of side cutters. It isn't hard.

I have a five year old rabbit called Caramel who has teeth problems. About a year ago, we took her to the vets for an operation on them, but I am wondering if I should take her back, because she is still grinding her teeth, eating slower than my other two and has a wet nose. How often would you take a rabbit with teeth problems to the vets?
Genetics can cause tooth problems as well as cage wire pulling that some of them do.I had this happen along with an extra toe on some of the rabbits, both problems in one litter of 9. The parents were even from different parts of the state, but the flawed genes in both showed up big time. Several were buck toothed, side cut pliers did the trick up to the 8 weeks I needed as they were meat production rabbits. I never bred her back to him again, and have not seen either problem in all my years or raising them come up again. I did have one that had both sex organs (hermaphrodites they are called). My grandpa had it happen once and took the rabbit to a university to have it looked at. I can still see him telling that story so many years ago. He was a hard man, but wanted the knowledge of this oddity so bad he made that trip. I don't recall what he did with it after that. Good luck, do whats best for the animal, not you.
