I wanted 8 chicks. Then we found to get them relatively soon, we had to order from a hatchery. We went with Meyer but it's a minimum order of 15!
Then my husband saw there were no black or white chicks, so he went to the internet and found a local store and bought 7 more, no we're up to 22 and our son wants some blue laced red Wyandottes, so we found a place with those and olive eggers.
And to add to the fun, now the husband wants Turkeys!
So the "I don't want TOO many chickens" quickly turned into, "What's a few more? We have the room!"
