How to care for the wild chukar who adopted us?

Shortly before Thanksgiving, a beautiful Chukar Partridge took up residence on our deck. It stayed for 5 days until one day the dog scared it and it flew off. Today, Dec. 27, it reappeared. We live in ND and so far this month have had 40 inches of snow! (Scary, I know). We feed birds, squirrels and a rabbit and would like to help the Chukar survive our cold winter. He is huddled in the corner of the deck, but needs more shelter. I have read through many forum posts and have found good advice on feeding. Does anyone have advice on what we can do to provide shelter that might attract him to use? The next couple days won't get below zero, but after that it is "all down hill". Temps and windchills will get vicious. HOPING SOMEONE CAN HELP. THANK YOU.

Try building a brush shelter for it, in several protected places. Evergreen branches would be ideal if available. Sprinkle some grain in the shelter to get it inside the shelter. HTH
