Hello From Central KY!

Howdy y'all

I'm from a little town near Lexington, KY. I've been wanting some chickens of my own ever since I helped care for my nephew's chickens and fell in love! I am finally in a location where I can have a small coop, and bought one today! The coop I bought will house 4 - 6 chickens, which is all I can have in town anyway. I'm assuming at this point that it would be best if I wait until Spring to actually get the chickens. I'm looking forward to getting to learn from all of you!

Hi Donna, and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us. One thing that I would advise before doing anything else is to measure the internal space of the coop. Those marketing coops more often than not, "are more than optimistic" in their claims on the number of birds their coops can actually house.
