I was racking my brain trying to remember who it is that has geese in the desert finally came to me @gander007 I think you 2 need to talk.well I am a complete novice and still don't have any geese but I have been asking the same question. What are the best geese for hot climate. Here is what others have told me
Pretty much all geese do ok in hot weather if they have adequate shade and LOTS of FRESH water.
Cotton Patch geese might be better in hot climate since they were used for many generations in the south to weed cotton. But there is no date to confirm that, it is just speculation.
Generally it is believed small and medium size geese do better in hot weather, large breeds and overweight geese will not do as well.
again, I have no experience to say whether or not this is correct, only what I have heard second hand
Cool fresh water seems to be the unanimously agreed upon most important thing.
Would still love to hear from others who have geese in hot weather.
