This pretty rooster was dumped on our property a few days ago. We have never had chickens but would keep this one if we could. The local ordinance does not permit roosters, however. He must have been somebody's pet as he accepts us and being handled. Such a nice animal -- really deserves a nice home.

I hope you find a good home for him! If it's the rooster in your avatar he is not a leghorn, he is a mix. Just wanted to let you know so you could advertise him properly and hopefully find a good home for him :)

Thank you! No -- we didn't know what breed he is but were told he was a Leghorn. I'll make an edit.

Hi,
I believe this is a Sussex fowl. It looks like someone bred a Light Sussex ( white with black tail and black neck) to a red bird and this bird is the result.Actually, it is quite a nice looking Sussex,. It actually looks like a purebred Sussex. Unless it has feathers on its feet... if it does then someone took a Light Brahma and crossed it to a red bird and this is the resut.
Best
Karen
