Brinsea Ovation 56 EX

Has anyone on this thread asked Brinsea for a refund within the 3 year warranty and get anywhere with that? I am not happy with the floor flooding. For the price it should work perfectly like my Octagon I have from them.

I have the 56 ex and I've had poor results with my waterfowl and pheasants. I stored it under my bed and fired up my old spirtsman gqf again. I'm hand turning 40 some hooded merganser smew etc and having better results. Though i will say last year i got a 100/ hatch in mearns quail from the 56 ex. Its loud the lid is hard to handle ( needs hinges.) The floor floods. If not all eggs are fue the same day. Chicks get trapped under the turners. And my duck hatch rate was realy poor.

Hey Renee, I was wondering what your final opinion was on the 56 ex? Do you now have a different incubator? Were you able to resolve the issues surrounding the 56 and still use it? I am looking at purchasing the 56 ex or the 28 ex and I also live in Oregon. I would love some advice as to which incubator from Brinsea would be best for me!

We have the ovation 56 ex and love it.
The temp is always where I set it at aswell as the humidity.
Hatch rates are 80%plus.
We had a poor hatch once but that was no fault of the bator.

I know this is an older thread .... my first hatch of the 56ex was a disaster. I'm wondering if anyone else put water in the second reservoir to help with humidity. Or a wet sponge somewhere on the floor? Thanks ... I have another week before lockdown again.

You want higher or lower humidity?

I put a sponge in the second reservior, added water, and wrapped a towel around the base to insulate it. The whole incubator sat on a sheet of styrofoam. It worked.
