Hello,

You mentioned your hen had a pretty beat up Comb....

is she able to walk correctly?

no swaying? She keeps her head up pretty well? No swinging of the head or "floppy neck?"

I had a polish pullet with similar symptoms, she had a head injury.....

she wouldn't eat or drink by herself.

Feel around her head gently for any abnormality in her head structure, opposed to another chicken of her breed. Make sure nothing is out of place.

Hope this helps you identify whatever is going on, and a big prayer to her getting better.

Could you try feeding her natural yogurt with a syringe? The probiotic in it might perk her up. Olive oil is good too.

Sorry for the delay in response just had to rescue a bird from one of my cats. It was flapping around my bedroom but now it is free. Not what I need with Avian flu in the UK ha ha.
 
She finally ate about an hour ago a a good amount! I am going to try some yogurt and/or olive oil and see how she is doing in the morning. Might keep her inside one more day and if she is more herself put her back with the other gals and guy. Wish me luck!
