Technical coop building question.

The paint job on the coop is awesome. I agree with Aart about the clouds. I have two questions for you. Why do you have the pair of car ramps in front of the run door. I have a set of those that I have not used in years but will not get rid of them for some reason and you might have a reason for me to keep them and put them to use. I really like what you did with the nest boxes, do you think they will shut the curtains when they start laying?

It has been entertaining and informative following the thread and I thank you for that. Happy Easter.
Thanks for your kind comments. Those ramp things were just there temporarily so my husband to back the tractor up to the door and dump the loam in to fill in the run. We have since removed them and planted grass on the outside. Today I built a little ladder from the floor of the coop up to the poop board/roosts. All my chicks can fly easily up to roost except my little buff cochin that was sick. She was being left out and peeping franticly so I built a little ladder for her which I will remove once she can fly up by herself. See....never really done.

wow I am just catching up. I too love the paint. the flowers and clouds are awesome. I also agree with the group that you and your hubby have made not only a functional coop but a work of art. Something both of you should be very proud of.

Wow your coop looks amazing!!! I absolutely love the paint job, it is adorable!
Thank you! It really was a fun project. A good learning experience and very empowering! My chicks love it.

Here is a quick video of my chicks enjoying the run. They just love getting out of the coop and foraging around the run. I put leaves, logs and dirt etc from the woods and they love to pick through it for worms and bugs etc. You can see the buff cochin is doing awesome and keeping right up with the others. She is now starting to grow too.

Also my chicks are growing up and all doing well. My little sick Cochin is really thriving and she's a pushy little thing and I love to watch her boss the bigger girls. I found a wonderful chicken loving family to take Mr Magoo my Swedish flower cockerel. He was crowing a lot. I still have George my barred rock cockerel but he will most likely go too. I'm having a difficult time using the new forum and just wanted to check back in to all my friends here. I've followed some of you in an effort to reconnect. Here are some pictures. Hope all is well

It's looking very good! Amazing how fast time flies by and chicks grow up.

I'm curious what you have propping your window open, and how you have it attached. My windows are the same, hinged like that on the top. For now I'm using pieces of 2x4 to prop them open while I figure out a better system.

Looks like a stick/branch @Finnie .
I also use a 2x4 or 2x2 to prop open windows, have to get on a ladder to do it so they stay open most the summer unless there's a terrible storm.

Welcome back @Merrymouse !
Coop and birds look great!!
The new forum platform has a learning curve almost as steep as learning to build a coop!
Hang in there.

Ummmmm, I just spent three days yes, three days creating an article for my coop build and when I went to submit it I got an error and the entire thing disappeared. New forum learning curve or not, I am annoyed to say the least. Does anyone know how I can get it back, seriously it took me three days
