Geese Questions

Right now I'm concerned with ratios. I've a male (we think he's the non-tufted Roman which is darker and much noisier) and two females, but I'm expecting a male and female pair of Pom. Saddlebacks as well. And they nibble, "Cassius" bit my nose whereas "Adelaide" and "Anastasia" prefer fingers and hair bands on my wrist.

I ahve a question.

I have a Gander who unfourtwntly got cast out of the Goose flock. He is pretty much what we wanted when getting geese.a protectir tiwards our ducks.Of course, being new to geese we figured they would just intergrate themselves in with our ducks like new ducks do,unfourtently that didnt happen. So our cast out gander now live with the ducks and has nit changed and became aggressive like the other gander,Popeye.

I have been noticing some mating, and he thinks he may be paired up with our two pekins, not aware one is a male.Him and our drake I am oretty for sure are gonna need to work things out,but it seems like one of thise spring things, itll probabaly last up until this spring/summer are over, that seems to be the way ducks are, well drakes.

Will he drown our large female hen?And can he injure our pekin drake? This drake is a big boy, lotta muscle and fat and I wont be surprised to find my goose running off and just being a loner. But then again,he is a gander an dnot a duck.

hello everyone back again with a few more questions :), this time i ordered some geese 4 females the breeds are buff, African and Toulouse (1 of each and 2 Toulouse geese) but here are my questions

1. how defensive are these breeds of there territory? i plan on getting them to scare off predators with there endless honking (as i have been told) and making pets out of them (the eggs will be a bonus) but again just wondering how these breeds are for an alarm system.

2. next could i raise ducks with them? i plan on only getting the geese this year (there all adults by the way) and would be interested in ducks in the future, could i house these waterfowl together and can i get ducks and introduce them into the future of the flock or should i just get some now and raise them together from day 1 (there all a few weeks old by the way when i get them)

Geese are territorial so introducing another animal might be difficult.I suggest on raising them around/with ducks or separating themnif all gies bad.

I have only raised 3 Chinese since octiber, and i have heard Africans tend to be aggressive and territorial,so yeah they do make great guard dogs.

thank you i will have to make a different coop/run from the geese but still close enough to have them set off the alarm when a predator is near by.
